What not to travel with

It seems that I may have contracted my very first ear infection. Kind of amazing that I'm almost 3 and this is my first ear infection right? At least in my mom's current state she can't recall me being sick with this kind of ailment before. Anyway, I've had a cough/runny nose off and on for awhile and my mom got very suspicious when I started tugging on my ear at lunch time. Normally she wouldn't sweat it but we have some travel coming up so she was very wary of some less than perfect behavior. Chances are my mom took me to the doctor's office almost too early, but the NP did agree that my ear looked inflamed. So, meds are doing their work and let's hope I'm back to my normal cheery, chatty self soon. Meanwhile, this was a great excuse to watch Mary Poppins this afternoon. As the wise Mary Poppins says "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down!"

(p.s. note from mom: The NP made a very thoughtful choice and gave us chewable antibiotics so that when we do travel we don't have the hassle of keeping liquid antibiotics cold. The pills are huge but luckily they break in half easily and Carolyn seems to like the taste.)
